Gandhi Jayanti: On the occasion of the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel paid heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation at his birthplace, Kirti Mandir in Porbandar. Marking this solemn Gandhi Jayanti celebration, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a special QR code facility that provides visitors with instant access to Gandhi’s life story, historical details, and the significance of Kirti Mandir—bringing Bapu’s inspiring journey to people’s fingertips.

A Digital Step Towards Preserving Gandhi’s Legacy

The newly introduced QR code is designed to give tourists and devotees comprehensive information about Gandhi’s life and values. With just a quick scan on their mobile phones, visitors can now explore details about Bapu’s early years, his contributions to India’s independence struggle, and the spiritual essence of his birthplace.

Speaking at the event, CM Bhupendra Patel emphasized that the initiative blends tradition with modern technology, ensuring that Gandhi’s timeless teachings remain accessible to future generations.

From Swadeshi to Self-Reliant India

During his address, the Chief Minister recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s monumental role in shaping India’s freedom movement. Gandhi’s advocacy for khadi and the Swadeshi movement, Patel noted, became the foundation stone for India’s independence. He further connected Gandhi’s ideals with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Vocal for Local” and Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).

“Just as Bapu inspired people to embrace indigenous goods and self-sufficiency, today our Prime Minister is guiding the nation towards a self-reliant, prosperous, and developed India,” Patel said, highlighting the continuity of Gandhian thought in modern governance.
