The 93rd Indian Air Force Day was celebrated with grandeur at Hindon Airbase, marking yet another proud moment for the Indian Armed Forces. The occasion was not only a tribute to the legacy of the Air Force but also a showcase of its modern capabilities, particularly highlighted through the recent Operation Sindoor.
A Proud Legacy Since 1932 : 93rd Indian Air Force Day
The Indian Air Force (IAF), the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces, was officially established on October 8, 1932, as an auxiliary air force of British India. Over the years, it has transformed into one of the most formidable air powers in the world, tasked with securing Indian airspace and conducting aerial warfare during conflicts.
Today, the IAF represents a blend of tradition, valour, and cutting-edge technology, continuously evolving to meet the demands of modern warfare.
Distinguished Guests at the Celebration
The celebrations at Hindon Airbase saw the presence of some of the highest-ranking defence officials of the country. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi attended the event.
Air Chief Marshal AP Singh inspected the ceremonial parade, paying homage to the brave men and women who protect the skies of India. The parade featured a spectacular display of military discipline, aerial prowess, and precision.
Honouring the Heroes of Operation Sindoor
A key highlight of this year’s celebration was Operation Sindoor, a recent high-precision military operation carried out by the Indian Armed Forces. Conducted in May 2025, the operation was a strategic retaliation following the Pahalgam attack, targeting confirmed terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and deeper within Pakistan.
During the operation, the IAF showcased its rapid deployment and strike capabilities. Fighter jets and advanced aircraft executed coordinated strikes on critical targets, including the Nur Khan and Rahimyar Khan air bases, utilizing India’s indigenous platforms and the Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) for seamless multi-domain coordination.
