Women World Cup 2025 final

As the Women World Cup 2025 final draws near, Team India is brimming with confidence and energy—thanks to a passionate speech by Jemimah Rodrigues. The much-anticipated clash between India and South Africa will take place on November 2 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the same venue where India stunned seven-time champions Australia with a record-breaking run chase in the semifinal.

Jemimah’s Emotional Journey After the Semifinal

After India’s historic victory against Australia, Jemimah Rodrigues couldn’t hold back her emotions. She broke into tears on the field right after the win and again while receiving the Player of the Match award. In the post-match press conference, Jemimah opened up about her struggles with form, anxiety, and the fear of being dropped from the team.

Now, just a day before the final, the BCCI has shared a heartfelt video showing Jemimah’s motivational speech that has lifted the spirit of the entire squad. The video begins with India’s fielding coach Munish Bali addressing the players, appreciating their exceptional fielding efforts, and later, Jemimah takes center stage.

Praise for India’s Fielding Heroes

In the video, coach Munish Bali praised Renuka Thakur for saving ten crucial runs against Australia and Shrey Charni for her brilliant caught-and-bowled effort. He also commended Kranti Gaud for her fearless diving efforts in the field.

For her outstanding performance, Jemimah Rodrigues was awarded the Best Fielder Medal. During the semifinal, she took a stunning catch and executed a direct hit that resulted in a run-out—key moments that helped India dominate the game.

Jemimah’s Speech: “We’ve Come This Far, Just One More Step to Go”

While receiving her medal, Jemimah spoke about her innings against Australia. She recalled, “When I was on 85 runs, I was completely exhausted. My teammates kept coming to the field just to bring me water and motivate me.”

She went on to praise Deepti Sharma, saying, “I told Deepti to keep talking to me while batting. She kept encouraging me throughout, even sacrificing her wicket for one of my runs. As she walked back, she said, ‘It’s okay, just finish the match for us.’ That moment really stayed with me.”

Jemimah highlighted how partnerships often go unnoticed but are crucial to victory. “People usually talk about the big innings, but it’s the small partnerships that make them possible. Deepti, Richa Ghosh, and Amanjot Kaur’s contributions were equally important. My partnership with Harmanpreet Di (Kaur) was special too,” she said.

A Team That Has Changed the Narrative

Reflecting on the team’s growth, Jemimah added, “Earlier, when we lost a wicket, the team used to crumble under pressure. But this new Team India has changed that. We’ve learned to fight back stronger every time.”

Ending her speech with a powerful message, Jemimah smiled and said, “We’ve come this far. Just one more step to go.” The room erupted with cheers as players rallied around her, fully charged for the upcoming battle.

India’s Golden Opportunity in the Women World Cup 2025 Final

This will be India’s third appearance in a Women’s ODI World Cup final, after reaching the finals in 2005 and 2017. Both times, the team fell just short of victory. But now, on home soil, Team India has the golden chance to lift their first-ever Women’s World Cup trophy.

The final against South Africa is not just another match—it’s an emotional culmination of years of hard work, resilience, and unity. With Jemimah Rodrigues’ leadership spirit, Harmanpreet Kaur’s composure, and a team full of rising stars, India stands on the brink of history.

As the cricket world waits for the grand showdown, one thing is certain: the Women World Cup 2025 final will be more than just a game—it will be a celebration of determination, teamwork, and the unbreakable spirit of women’s cricket in India.
