The Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has scheduled its next Standing Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 1, where a total of 62 resolutions will be discussed. Among these, major focus will be on approving development works worth ₹52.94 crore aimed at improving urban infrastructure and civic facilities across the city.
Approval for ₹52.94 Crore Development Projects
During this crucial meeting, the Standing Committee of Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation will deliberate and grant approval for several key projects. These include:
- Installation of new water lines under various housing schemes
- Setting up flow meters to improve water management
- Lighting work at permanent municipal sites
- New construction of night shelters for the needy
- Paving block installations across multiple city areas
- Setting up outdoor gym equipment at selected public places
- Construction of RCC roads and paver roads in different localities
- Use of rubber-molded paving blocks to enhance durability of city roads
All these initiatives, collectively amounting to ₹52.94 crore, will undergo detailed discussion and are expected to receive approval in the meeting.
Development Through Multiple Government Grants
Speaking about the projects, Standing Committee Chairman Rajesh Rabadiya stated that the Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation is committed to providing better civic facilities for the residents. He mentioned that these projects will be funded through multiple government schemes and grants, including:
- Amrut Grant
- Nirmal Gujarat Grant
- Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme
- Other state and central government-supported development grants
According to Rabadiya, the funds will be efficiently utilized to implement infrastructure projects that benefit citizens and improve the city’s standard of living.
