The meeting brought together tourism ministers and senior officials from all states and union territories to discuss new initiatives and strategies aimed at enhancing India’s tourism landscape.

The primary goal of this summit is to foster greater policy convergence in implementing the Tourism Transformation Agenda. It also aims to ensure that each region contributes effectively to building a globally competitive and sustainable tourism ecosystem across India.

State and union territory tourism ministers presented their perspectives on the draft framework for the “Development of 50 Destinations” and “Incentives Linked to Performance,” two key pillars of India’s Tourism Transformation Agenda. The discussions highlighted the importance of private sector-led tourism center development and destination management through the PLI-based destination maturity model.

Tourism Secretary V. Vidyavati inaugurated the session with an address outlining the objectives of the meeting. Following this, Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, provided the context for the two-day deliberations.
