This service has been introduced to meet the growing travel demand during the festive and winter season, offering passengers additional options and greater comfort on this busy route.
According to the official announcement, the Ahmedabad–Barauni–Ahmedabad Special Train will operate as a four-trip service under train numbers 05262 and 05261, running on specific dates in November 2025.
Train Schedule and Timings
Train No. 05262 (Ahmedabad–Barauni Special):
- Departure: November 13 and 14, 2025, from Ahmedabad at 2:20 PM.
- Arrival: Reaches Barauni on the third day at 4:30 AM.
Train No. 05261 (Barauni–Ahmedabad Special):
- Departure: November 11 and 12, 2025, from Barauni at 10:00 PM.
- Arrival: Reaches Ahmedabad on the third day at 8:00 AM.
Western Railway has confirmed that ticket booking for Train No. 05262 will officially open on November 9, 2025, through all authorized reservation counters and online booking platforms such as the IRCTC website and mobile app.

The special train between Ahmedabad and Barauni will halt at several key stations along the route, ensuring convenience for travelers from multiple states. The train will stop at:
Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Ratlam, Nagda, Ujjain, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Bina, Sagar, Damoh, Katni Murwara, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Patliputra, Hajipur, and Shahpur Patori.
These stoppages will serve passengers traveling across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar, strengthening regional connectivity between western and eastern India.
Coach Composition and Facilities
The Ahmedabad–Barauni special train will feature AC 3-tier economy, sleeper class, and general second-class coaches, providing options for passengers across different budget ranges.
