Energy Minister Kanubhai Desai Inaugurates DGVCL Offices in Vapi

Vapi, GujaratDGVCL: Energy Minister Kanubhai Desai officially inaugurated two new offices of the Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL) in Vapi. The new offices, constructed at an estimated cost of INR 11 crore, include the Vapi Industrial Division Office and the Vapi GIDC Sub-Division Office, aiming to benefit over 1.5 lakh electricity consumers in the region.

Modern Facilities to Serve Thousands of Consumers

The newly inaugurated Vapi Industrial Division Office will directly serve 1,29,419 electricity consumers, while the Vapi GIDC Sub-Division Office is expected to benefit 20,982 consumers. Both offices are equipped with modern infrastructure and facilities to ensure efficient service delivery and smooth operations for the growing consumer base in South Gujarat.

DGVCL’s Leading Role in Gujarat’s Power Sector

During the inauguration, Minister Kanubhai Desai highlighted the significant contributions of DGVCL in the region, emphasizing that the company holds a leading position in electricity services in South Gujarat. He further mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has become the only state in India providing 24-hour electricity supply across all villages.

Gujarat’s Solar Energy Leadership and High Power Consumption

The minister also spoke about climate change initiatives, noting that Gujarat ranks first in the country for solar energy production. He shared that per capita electricity consumption in Gujarat is 2,400 units, which is double the national average of 1,200 units, reflecting the state’s growing industrial and residential electricity demand.

Prominent Figures Attend the Ceremony

The inauguration event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Umargam MLA Ramnallal Patkar and DGVCL Managing Director Yogesh Chaudhary, who delivered insightful addresses. Additional Chief Engineer M.M. Patel welcomed the attendees, while Chief Engineer of DGVCL Valsad Circle, D.C. Mahala, expressed gratitude.

The ceremony was also attended by VIA President Satishbhai Patel, SIA President Nirmal Dudhani, along with various departmental officers, employees, and a large number of local residents, highlighting the community’s active participation in this milestone development.
