Navsari News: In a shocking twist that has stunned the people of Navsari, police have uncovered two murder cases while investigating the suspicious death of a woman found in an abandoned rice mill. What initially appeared to be a single case of homicide turned into a chilling revelation of back-to-back murders committed by the same man.
This Navsari news case has now become one of the most disturbing crime stories to emerge from the region in recent years.
Body Found in an Abandoned Rice Mill Leads to Major Breakthrough
Two days ago, Navsari Police recovered the body of a woman from a shut-down rice mill located near National Highway 48. At first, investigators assumed that the body belonged to Suhana, the ex-wife of the accused Faizal Pathan. Police began the investigation based on this assumption.
However, as the probe moved forward, it was confirmed that the dead woman was not Suhana but Faizal’s girlfriend, Riya. This identification changed the direction and intensity of the investigation.
Police Track Down the Accused Through CCTV Footage
A joint operation involving the Local Crime Branch (LCB), Rural Police, Town Police, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) was launched. Officers examined nearly 100 CCTV clips from surrounding areas. Using digital evidence and human intelligence, the police traced Faizal Pathan to Bardoli.
The accused had been hiding in a nearby agricultural field, terrified after committing the crime. With the help of informers and field-level intelligence, police successfully arrested him.
Money Dispute Led to Girlfriend’s Murder, Says Accused
During interrogation, Faizal admitted that he brought his girlfriend Riya from Bardoli to Navsari on October 28. They went to the abandoned rice mill building, where an argument broke out between them over financial issues.
According to police sources, Faizal confessed that in a fit of rage, he punched Riya multiple times in the stomach and other parts of her body. When she collapsed, he allegedly strangled her, killing her on the spot.
He then left her body inside the mill and fled.
Reconstruction Reveals a Second Murder
As part of the investigation, police conducted a crime-scene reconstruction with the accused. It was during this process that Faizal unexpectedly broke down and made an even more shocking confession.
He told police:
“Sir, the body you found is not my ex-wife Suhana. It is Riya. I killed Suhana three months ago.”
This revelation stunned the entire investigation team.
Ex-Wife Killed Three Months Earlier Over Suspicion
Faizal further revealed the chilling details of the earlier murder. He suspected that his ex-wife Suhana was involved with other men. Although they were already divorced, Faizal frequently visited her in Navsari, and each time he believed she was in contact with other men.
Driven by jealousy and anger, he decided to kill her three months ago.
He took Suhana to the same abandoned Asha Rice Mill and pushed her from the upper floor of the building. She died on the spot. To hide her body, he dragged it inside, covered it with cloth, and hid it deep inside the structure where no one would easily find it.
He then fled from the scene.
Police Recover Skeletal Remains; DNA Test Ordered
Following Faizal’s confession, the police returned to the abandoned mill for a fresh, detailed search. During this investigation, officers discovered a skeletal body, believed to be that of Suhana.
The remains have been sent for a DNA test, and police are preparing to register a second murder case once results confirm the identity.
This shocking discovery marks a rare instance where solving one homicide directly led authorities to uncover another.
Statement from Navsari Police Chief
Navsari District Superintendent of Police, Rahul Patel, confirmed that investigators examined more than 100 CCTV clips and used local intelligence inputs to trace and arrest Faizal Pathan.
He stated that Faizal admitted to killing Riya after an argument and that during further questioning, the accused also confessed to killing his ex-wife three months earlier.
The SP added that Faizal killed both women in the same abandoned rice mill, a detail that has shocked local residents and crime investigators alike.
