The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has officially started the Revenue Talati Exam today, marking a major step in the state’s recruitment process. The examination will be held for three consecutive days, from October 14 to October 16, across multiple centers in Gujarat.
2,389 Vacancies and Massive Candidate Participation
This year’s Revenue Talati Exam is being conducted to fill 2,389 vacancies in the Revenue Department. As per GSSSB, around five times more candidates than the total vacancies — nearly 12,000 shortlisted aspirants — will appear for the main examination. Earlier, on September 14, the board conducted a preliminary OMR-based test, which witnessed participation from over 3 lakh candidates across the state. Based on the announced cut-off marks, only the qualified candidates are now eligible for the ongoing main exam.
Exam Timing and Reporting Instructions
The Revenue Talati Exam will begin at 3:00 PM each day, and all candidates are required to report to their examination centers by 1:30 PM for document verification and seating arrangements. To ensure timely arrival, the administration has arranged special bus services in several locations, helping candidates reach their designated centers without delay.
Exam Pattern and Structure
The Revenue Talati Exam consists of three key papers, aimed at evaluating language skills, general awareness, and administrative knowledge:
- English Language – 100 marks
- Gujarati Language – 100 marks
- General Studies – 150 marks
These papers will test candidates’ understanding of local governance, communication, and analytical skills essential for the Revenue Talati role.

Documents Required for the Exam
Candidates appearing for the Revenue Talati Exam must carry the following:
- Admit Card (Hall Ticket) – mandatory for entry
- One Original Photo ID Proof – Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, or Voter ID
- For Married Female Candidates – Original Marriage Registration Certificate if there has been a name change after marriage
