Saurashtra University’s 53rd Youth Festival Named ‘Sindurotsav’, Begins from October 13

Rajkot: Saurashtra University is all set to host its grand 53rd Youth Festival, which has been beautifully named ‘Sindurotsav’. The three-day cultural event will begin on October 13 and continue till October 15 at the university campus in Rajkot.

This year, around 1,500 young artists from 80 different colleges across the Saurashtra region will take part in 33 exciting competitions. These contests will showcase the creativity, talent, and energy of the youth in fields like art, literature, music, and theatre.

Purpose of the Festival

The Saurashtra University organizes this Youth Festival every year to encourage students to develop their skills in art, culture, and literature. The aim is to help young people express their hidden talents and build confidence through various creative competitions.

University officials shared that all cultural performances will be held at the Kanji Bhuta Barot Auditorium, while other competitions will take place in the Art Gallery, Sanskrit Department, Gujarati Department, Physics Department, and MCA Building within the campus.

Inauguration and Schedule

The opening ceremony of ‘Sindurotsav’ will take place on October 13 at 11:00 AM at the Kanji Bhuta Barot Auditorium. Soon after the inauguration, competitions will begin at 2:00 PM and continue for three days.

Every evening, results of the day’s competitions will be announced on the spot to keep up the excitement among participants.

Prize Distribution and Closing Da

On the final day (October 15), a special award ceremony will be held to honor the winners of all events. Each winner will receive cash prizes, certificates, and mementos from the university as a mark of appreciation for their hard work and artistic excellence.

Festival Timing and Holidays

According to university sources, the academic session for colleges will end on October 16, followed by the Diwali vacation starting from October 17. After the Youth Festival concludes, students will enjoy a 21-day festive break.

Due to repair work in several seminar halls inside the main building, some competitions will be conducted in classrooms and other department halls, such as the English and Statistics Department seminar halls.
