Shop Employee Injured in Knife Assault; Police Register Case Against Two Accused
Bhavnagar Businessman Attacked: A violent altercation at a sewing supplies store in Bhavnagar has left a shop employee seriously injured after he was allegedly attacked with a knife following a disagreement with a customer. The incident, which took place in the Kharshi area on Tarsamiya Road, has sparked concern among local residents and prompted a police investigation.
According to authorities, the victim, identified as 32-year-old Manishbhai Panchabhai Dabhi, was working at a shop that sells sewing equipment and materials when the dispute occurred. Manishbhai, originally from Piplara village in Ghogha taluka, currently resides in Bapa Sitaram Society in the Kharshi locality, where the store is also located.
Disagreement Escalated Inside the Store
Police said the confrontation began when a local resident arrived at the shop to purchase items. During the visit, the customer allegedly started removing products from the shelves on his own without consulting the shop staff.
Manishbhai reportedly asked the customer not to handle the merchandise without permission and requested that he allow store employees to assist him. What appeared to be a routine disagreement quickly escalated when the customer allegedly became angry over the objection.
Witness accounts and the victim’s complaint indicate that the customer left the premises after issuing threats. However, the situation did not end there.
Suspects Returned and Allegedly Carried Out Attack
Investigators say the accused later returned to the store accompanied by a relative. The pair allegedly confronted Manishbhai again and began arguing with him inside the shop.
The verbal dispute soon turned physical, with the accused allegedly assaulting the employee. During the confrontation, one of the men reportedly produced a knife and attacked Manishbhai, causing serious injuries.
The victim sustained knife wounds and collapsed inside the store. Following the attack, both suspects allegedly fled the scene before police arrived.
Local residents and bystanders quickly responded to the incident and arranged for Manishbhai to be taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Medical personnel admitted him for further care, and his condition prompted immediate police attention.
